Persons with no letter of referral from another medical institution or from their initial physician's examination:
JPY 3,300 (tax inclusive)
Cost of combination therapy at physician's initial examination (fee for treatment of patients’ choice)
This system of "Initial treatments will be performed at a clinic or small doctor's office and advanced and specialist care will be performed at a hospital" was introduced by the government (Ministry of Health Labor and Welfare) to promote the division of roles at a medical institution and promote primary care physicians; so, in the event a patient comes to a hospital with more than 200 beds for his/her/their initial medical examination without a letter of referral from another healthcare institution, this hospital will be allowed to collect a sum set by the hospital in addition to the standard medical care fees.

As a hospital we wish to provide quality and safe medicine in cooperation with partners (primary care physicians) including clinics in the community under our policy to give back and improve community medicine.

When co-payment is needed on the fee for treatment of patients’ choice at a physician's initial examination

In the following cases, it is physician's initial examination and there will be a charge.

  1. When a physician's initial examination is received here without a letter of referral from another healthcare institution.
  2. When more than three months have passed since treatment was stopped voluntarily by the patient, even if this current visit for a physician's examination is for the same illness and same symptoms as what the patient had been previously seen for.
